Strattera – sympathomimetic agents of central action
Strattera is a sympathomimetic agents of central action (presynaptic noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor). It is used for treating attention- deficit hyperactivity syndrome (lack of concentration, impatience, learning difficulties, restlessness, distractability, lack of organization, impulsivity) in children above 6 and adults. The active ingredient in Strattera (Atomoxetine) is a highly selective and powerful presynaptic noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor. It is not a derivative amphetamine.Strattera (Atomoxetine) has minimal affinity for other noradrenaline receptors or neurotransmitter receptors.Strattera does not refer to psychostimulants. Clinical trials showed that withdrawal of Strattera does not cause worsening of the disease symptoms or other conditions associated with withdrawal syndrome. Strattera is intended both for children and adults with attention deficiency. The symptoms that are manifested in more than one social environment (e.g. at school and home) include inability to concentrate, hyperactivity, distractability and other behavioral disorders similar to the listed ones.
