Diovan – a new method of treatment of hypertension
Diovan is a new and highly effective antihypertensive medication which is easy in use and well tolerated especially in comparison with other medicines of the same class. Diovan has been created for satisfaction of need for a better antihypertensive medication than those existed. Combination of such properties of Diovan as high effectiveness, comfortable use, good tolerability and absence of appreciable interactions with other medicines make it number one medicine for treating essential hypertension. Diovan inhibits all effects of angiotensin II mediated by AT1 receptors including vasopressor response and aldosterone secretion. Diovan does cause increase in the number of blocked receptors or decrease in their sensitivity with time. Diovan does not change the frequency and rhythm of heartbeats and does not affect orthostatic adaptation after body position change or hemodynamic reactions in consequence of sympathetic stimulation after load. Diovan is absorbed intact into blood from the gastrointestinal tract. A part of the medicine is subject to metabolism and the rest is excreted in an unchanged condition. Diovan is not a prodrug.
